The Counselling Process

To seek personal insight through therapy can feel frightening but it can also be an enlightening and worthwhile experience. Therapy is a process of work and the time scale is wholly individual. The process is very person specific and there may be a time in which you feel worse before you feel better. The decision to have counselling is personal and can only be made by you. For most people, therapy is a positive way forward and counselling can be used as an aid to personal development and greater self-awareness. Talking to a skilled Psychotherapist – someone who isn’t a friend or family member – can make all the difference and provides a regular, safe and confidential space for you to explore perhaps distressing thoughts or feelings. This is an empowering process and therapy can be truly transformational and life changing.
